When Kate Centofanti and Marc Whittington met during their junior year of college, luck was on their side. Though Marc had just returned from a year abroad and Kate was about to leave for a semester overseas, they each made a lasting impression on the other. Fast forward a few years, when Marc planned a trip to Montreal as an anniversary present. When the couple returned home, Marc proposed to Kate with a custom musical arrangement and the help of several friends who were in on the plan.
The wedding ceremony took place at The Pavilion on Crystal Lake in Middletown. Although the couple wrote their vows separately, they both concluded their heartfelt devotions with “I love you and I like you,” a reference to Parks & Recreation, a show that they bonded over.
The bride is the daughter of Babette Caraccio and Alan Centofanti of Stamford. She graduated from Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s degree in French and psychology. She is an account coordinator for Jacobson Strategic Communications in Philadelphia.
The groom is the son of Christiana and Ned Whittington of Hanover, New Hampshire. He graduated from Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s degree in history and is a SEO strategist at Haystack Needle, LLC., which is based in New York City. The couple honeymooned in Costa Rica and call Philadelphia home.
