When Cristina Poulos and Benjamin Romeo first met at Zaza Italian Gastrobar, they quickly realized that they had likely crossed paths multiple times, having grown up near each other, but had never met before that night. They bonded over their similar childhoods and their shared love of all things Connecticut. Their relationship took off from there.
As the time came to propose, Benjamin took Cristina to the beach near her parents’ summer home, and as the sun set, he asked her to be his wife. They returned to the house and celebrated their engagement with friends and family, who were in on the surprise.
The wedding ceremony, held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Stamford, was officiated by the Very Rev. Dr. George Poulos, the bride’s grandfather, who also celebrated his ninety-sixth birthday that day. Co-celebrants included Rev. Fr. Evan Evangelides and Rev. Fr. Patric Legato. A reception at the Country Club of Darien followed, during which the couple incorporated as many local and small businesses as possible.
Cristina is the daughter of Argery and Peter Poulos of Stamford. She received her doctor of chiropractic degree from Life University and practices at Stamford Balance Chiropractic Studio. Benjamin is the son of Matilde and Benjamin Romeo of Greenwich. He graduated from Villanova University and is a trader at AXA Investment Management in Greenwich.
The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Turks and Caicos before returning home to Stamford.
