Megan Palmer Rivera (STAMFORD), culinary director for Palmer’s catering, along with her professional dance partner, Nahun Alba (from Arthur Murray Grande Ballroom of Greenwich), cooked up a dance routine worthy of the JUDGES’ CHOICE AWARD (female division), at this annual fundraiser held at the Palace Theatre, Stamford. Peter Sciarretta, (STAMFORD), CEO of Hemingway Construction, hip-hopped his way to winning the JUDGES’ CHOICE AWARD (male division) with his professional dance partner Jennifer Segovia (from St. Saviour’s School of Dance and Chelsea Piers Dance Academy). In recognition of his outstanding fundraising efforts for the event, Sciarretta, received the PEOPLES’ CHOICE AWARD (male division). Stamford resident and co-owner of Inspire Fitness, Wendi Becker Hoak, inspired many to vote for her, winning the PEOPLES’ CHOICE AWARD (female division) with her professional dance partner, Hazael Rojas, an instructor at Latin Moves Dance Studio in Stamford. An enthusiastic team from Northwestern Mutual – Stamford assembled and delivered 100 big green boxes of cheer to the new mothers and hospitalized children at Stamford Hospital on October 2. This day of smiles for our local hospital began when the local Northwestern Mutual office came together as a team to assemble the Cheeriodicals. After assembling the gifts, along with a couple of children’s wagons, the team then delivered the surprise gifts to Stamford Hospital in person with a helping hand from Two Men and a Truck Norwalk. The hospital delivery was the perfect way to allow the Northwestern Mutual team see the impact of the giving by witnessing the smiles in person from the new mothers and hospitalized children. With the coordinated support from Stamford Hospital, the Northwestern Mutual team assisted in delivering the cheer boxes to the patients. “This personal day of giving was such a wonderful way for our team to come together to make a difference in our community” said Phil Bender, Northwestern Mutual, Managing Partner. “Our team always appreciates giving back, especially when it impacts Stamford locally”.
